At 200-square-metres, the grandeur of our Royal Suite is explicit. Arab-influenced Moorish arches define the centre of the room and delineate the dining area-which holds a ten-person table-from the parlour, which is furnished with three sofas. Hand painted ceilings meet pale green walls draped in silk and linen damask. The richly patterned upholsteries of the priceless antiques, present since the hotel's inauguration in 1928, complement the intricate rugs that cover smooth inlaid marble floors.

Modernity and antiquity fuse seamlessly as a CD stereo and LCD TV with satellite channels and pay-per-view moves are at home next to bohemian crystal chandeliers and portraits of Spanish royalty. High Speed Internet Access is available.

The master bedroom is furnished with a characteristic 2,10-meter-wide canopied bed enveloped in silk damask.
