The work is moving into its final phase
The Hotel Alfonso XIII will reopen its doors on the 13th of March
Madrid, 24th of January 2012.- The Hotel Alfonso XIII, closed for an in depth refurbishment since the 31st of May of last year, has today communicated that it will reopen its doors on the 13th of March.

The refurbishment work on the Hotel Alfonso XIII that started on the 1st of June is all going according to plan. Therefore, most of the work on the roofing and attic area has already been finished and the foundation work for the refurbishment on the different floors has been started.
The hotel has also concluded the roof waterproofing operation; the roof tiles have been laid and the turrets in the upper area have been restored. In the installations’ renewal process (the main part of the refurbishment), the pipes and ducts needed for the heating and air conditioning, water and fire extinction facilities have been laid in the attic area. The HVAC ducts have also been installed and the spaces have been adapted to create two new lifts.
Regarding the progress made on the different floors, the rainwater drainage pipes have been adjusted and new pipes have been designed for the bathrooms, and the new electrical installation for the bedrooms and corridors has been planned.
The main floor, where the changes are minimal since several areas such as the hall or the main staircase are not going to be altered at all, is being adapted to incorporate new rainwater drainage pipes and drains. Here, work to modernise the functions rooms, renewal of bathrooms, kitchen and bar has also been started.
The refurbishment (which also contemplates the exterior areas, where work is already under way on the renovation and waterproofing of the outdoor terraces), is most significant on the lower floor, where the new energy plant is being built and the pits for the new lifts excavated. Structural changes are also being made to the water tanks.

Sevilla, May 31, 2011 .- The Hotel Alfonso XIII closes its doors today to begin the renovation and overhaul to remain one of the most emblematic hotel establishments in the city of Seville, nationally and globally. The works are centered on three pillars-improving infrastructure, renovation of the decoration and creation of new spaces, "will last approximately 10 months, being at full capacity for Holy Week and Fair of 2012. Always keeping the essence and the elegant and classic style of the hotel, the reform will retain the regional style and accentuate the romantic concept of the journey on their premises including new facilities that meet the expectations of current and future customers.
